Amazon Doubles Down on Generic Drugs With New RxPass Subscription
For just $5 per month, subscribers can fill as many prescriptions as needed from a curated list of around 50 commonly used generic medications, all delivered directly to their doorstep. The service bypasses insurance—including Medicare and Medicaid—and is currently available in 42 states.
RxPass strengthens Amazon’s broader push into healthcare via its pharmacy services, offering a convenient and potentially cost-saving alternative to traditional drugstores. While Amazon Pharmacy already sells generics as low as $1 for a monthly supply, the RxPass flat-fee model is positioned to benefit customers with multiple prescriptions by potentially offering greater savings per month.
